About Cite Nazareth Mbare
The “NAZARETH CITY” Mbare is the fruit of the Pontifical Council for the Family. It is a pontifical work founded in 1997 to help vulnerable children. Its creation was decided during the meeting in Manila (Philippines) in October 1994. It was inaugurated by His Eminence Cardinal Alphonso Lopez Trujillo, President of the Council cited above at that time, on November 7, 1999.
This project was desired by His Holiness Pope John Paul II, who had already become Saint John Paul II and to whom the “NAZARETH Mbare CITY” was dedicated, as a gesture of his paternal concern towards orphaned and destitute children following the tragic events of 1994 This Pontifical work, which is both symbolic and exemplary, is intended to be the Church’s commitment to these young people who come from all corners of the country. The “NAZARETH CITY” Mbare collaborates with local authorities to seek out everything that can be useful to the nation.
